Product FAQs

What is a normal hand grip strength result? Does this vary by age or gender?

Yes, typical hand grip strength varies based on age and gender. For example, the normal grip strength range for a 60-year-old man is 66.6-105.8 lbs (30-48 kg). Please see the Strength Measurement Range Chart for complete details.

How to do the isometric exercises?

1. Measure your maximum hand grip with the Handexer dynamometer.
2. Do the isometric exercises with this device.
3. Exercise routine:
(a) Squeeze 1/3 of your maximum grip for 2 minutes for each hand, with 1 minute of rest between.
(b) 3 repetitions = 12 minutes total.
(c) Do this 3 to 5 days a week.

Can the dynamometer be squeezed continuously for a minute with a constant readout?

Yes. If the Handexer dynamometer is squeezed continuously for a minute, it will display a real-time readout and capture your maximum handgrip strength during the entire process.

Can the hand dynamometer accommodate large hands?

Yes, the device adjusts to fit a wide range of hand sizes. The opening of the handle is 3.3 x 1.3 inches, and it features an adjustable gear so you can find the ideal, comfortable grasp for your hand.

How firm is the rubber grip on the handle?

The TPR rubber grip on the handle is designed to be very firm to ensure it accurately measures your grip strength (up to 265 lbs / 120 kg). A soft grip with some give would not provide an accurate reading. For those with delicate hands, we recommend wearing a pair of training gloves during frequent use.

Does it come with batteries?

Yes, the Handexer hand dynamometer comes with 2 AAA batteries included, so it is ready to use right out of the box.

How long will it last?

The high-precision sensors inside are designed for more than 20,000 uses. Under normal testing frequency, you can use this dynamometer for over 5 years.

How do I switch the measurement unit between lbs and kg?

It is very simple. You can easily toggle between pounds (lbs) and kilograms (kg) by pressing the dedicated unit button on the control panel before starting your test.

Can it save test records for multiple users?

Yes, the dynamometer can store up to 19 different user profiles (including gender and age). This makes it easy for families, sports teams, or clinic patients to track their individual grip strength progress over time.
